Ehlert Online Media – Kawasaki Interactive Video Banners
About: Ehlert Online Media is the premier powersports media company in North America. Ehlert currently produces fourteen consumer magazines, two b2b publications, three business directories, two cabel television shows, eight websites, and several consumer events. Ehlert is the unmatched leader in providing information and entertainment to active outdoor enthusiasts who spend their leisure time snowmobiling, boating, motorcycling, riding all-terrain vehicles and camping.
Challenge: SiteGoals has worked with the Ehlert brands for over five years creating rich media websites, landing pages and advertising banners and emails. This particular project required our team to develop a custom video player that could hold several videos, had a small footprint until activated, and could provide multiple types of user tracking.
Solution: SiteGoals designed and developed a custom video player hidden within a low impact banner until it was rolled over. The player allowed the Ehlert team to define up to five separate videos from an XML document so they could be changed out with fresh content. Our development team added in custom tracking information so the advertiser could see how many times the banner was activated, how many times the ad and videos were clicked, and how long each video was watched. The success of these ads has kept the Kawasaki team coming back with each new campaign.
