Home Planners is a division of Hanley-Wood, LLC, delivering plans to buyers through consumer books, home plan magazines, special interest publications and their website, ePlans.com. ePlans.com provides consumers with the largest selection of home plans on the web and the expert tips and planning tools that they need to make their building experience easy, informed and enjoyable.

Challenge: The major challenge was optimizing the overwhelming amount of content and options each visitor experienced while searching for house plans. The company wished to update the user interface of its site to add to the ease of searching for plans and construct the page to improve natural search engine placement.

Solution: In addition to improving the process of searching for a house plan, SiteGoals suggested additional methods for finding house plans including browsing by style, living options and square footage. The user-interface was updated to help visitor quickly identify the options available to them, and checkout process was simplified giving the user constant feedback as to what stage of the process they were in.

Design Approach:


	Add blueprint motif and positioning statement to identify company's area of business.
	Add quickly identifiable and easy-to-use search box to immediately engage visitors; incorporate "Plan #" box facilitate searches by magazine readers viewing specific plans.
	Introduce "Getting Started" section to help users overcome the biggest hurdle, understanding the house building process.
	Include "Featured Plan" listing to warm up the page and gain immediate attention.
	Introduce new search approaches, including searching by style and popularity.
	Preserve advertising, an important revenue source while keeping it from interfering with the search process.
